Default Abs ets lights on cruise control off

Fitted a new starter motor. Now ABS and ETS lights are on and cruise control not working. Found a loose wire that looks like it goes to small terminal on starter but I'm almost sure there should be only one wire there. The loose wire comes out of a small loom of three wires. One goes to a bell housing sensor the other to a sensor on the engine. (Lower section). Any ideas where this goes. Have tried it on and off the starter. Doesn't solve any of the mentioned problems.
Cheers
John

Obviously that is an important wire, do you have any pic? Perhaps it helps to picture it. Thanks.

Will try get pic of it but it's in an awkward place to get the camera in. Looks to me as though it should go to starter it's just the fight length to fit there without stretching it. But all cars I've had over the years there has only been the one wire on that terminal. I can't see anywhere else it would go.

did you disconnect the battery when you did the job? you might need to initialize the steering angle sensor by turning the steering wheel lock to lock once or twice then maybe the light will go out.

Hi Chassis221, I think he is more concerned about the wire hanging don't know from where and where to.

Yes. I think the loose wire is most important. It's obviously there for a reason. Still looks as though it should go to started as it's the right length for that. Will try the wheel lock but would that affect the cruise control? Didn't disconnected battery so wondering if shorted it somewhere and maybe blown a fuse.

Are you the one saying it is the ground wire in another forum?

Tried the steering lock. No change. Not been able to get photo yet as it's been raining most of the day. I don't think it should go to starter but can't see anywhere else it would go. The other two wires from that part of the loom are going to sensors. When I removed starter I didn't notice any extra wires. Pretty much sure there were just the thick live and the thin wire connected.
