The Vaneo is an MPV by Mercedes-Benz that is based on an
A-Class platform. The Mercedes-Benz Vaneo was only sold in the United Kingdom from 1997 until 2004. The Vaneo has a body appearance that is more upright and like that of a van. Some believe that the name Vaneo came from the very van like shape that the MPV has.
Not only is the name and appearance of the Vaneo very much like that of a van, it is said to drive like a van and have poor acceleration rates, despite the four and six cylinder engines that were available in the Vaneo. Consumers criticized the interior for not being as classy as they would expect, very van like. Those that purchased the Vaneo also complained that the Vaneo was not as well built as other Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Because the vehicles were not built as soundly as one would expect, the resale value is very poor for the Vaneo, with reports that one should only expect to receive half of their money back after a year of ownership!
The Vaneo is very rare, perhaps because word spread quickly that this was not a well built or high quality Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The lack of popularity also might have had something to do with the body design, whatever the reason, most people have never seen or heard of the Vaneo.
