The CLK-Class is a class of medium sized luxury vehicles by Mercedes-Benz that provide rear wheel drive. The CLK-Class are vehicles that are either coupes or convertibles. The major models in the CLK-Class would be the CLK320, CLK500, and CLK55 AMG. The CLK55 AMG is known as the most powerful with a 270 kW V8 engine. The CLK-Class is related to the
E-Class coupe and covertible of 1994 and 1995.
The first generation of the Mercedes CLK-Class was made available for the 1998 model and was made less expensive than the SL-Class covertibles. The models offered in the first generation from 1998-2002 were the CLK320, CLK430, and the CLK44 AMG. All of these models were available in both the couple and convertible forms to appeal to a wider consumer base.
The second generation has been available since 2003 and is still produced today. The CLK coupe received a makeover in 2003 and the cabriolet followed in 2004. The current models are the CLK320, the CLK500, and the CLK55 AMG. The 320 offers the least powerful engine and the CLK55 AMG offers the most powerful engine. Each vehicle in the CLK-Class seats four on an all leather interior. All of the CLK-Class vehicles come standard with dual zone air conditioning, 10-way power front seats and rain sensing windshield wipers as well as four side airbags.
