The CL-Class is a 2-door luxury couple produced by Mercedes-Benz. The CL-Class offers four variants which as the CL500, the CL600, the CL55 AMG, and the CL65 AMG. The CL-Class is directly linked to to the SEC vehicles which were renamed from 1994 until 1997. The CL was officially adopted in 1998 and the W140 coupes were called the CL500 and the CL600 from 1998-1999.
The most modern generation in the CL-Class is the W215 chassis coupe which has been produced since 2000 and continues today. The new generation is available in four models with are the CL500 which is powered by a V8 engine, the CL55 AMG powered by the superchaged V8 engine, the bi turbo V12 CL600, and the CL65 which is powered by the bi turbo V12. A limited edition was sold in 2001 as the CL63 AMG and was powered by a V12. All of the CL models seat four passengers.
The CL-Class is always the first model that Mercedes-Benz offers new technoligcal features to. Features such as Active Body Control help the CL-Class vehicles outsell other luxury vehicles such as the Jaguar XK8, and the Bentley Continental GT. The CL-Class offers great features such as climate control, leather interiors, wood trip, computer, CD player, heated and cooled seats, and a powered moonroof. There are several design packages that are available that allow consumers to choose custom paint colors, leather, and walnut trim.
