Introduction
Since the dawn of motoring time, the Mercedes Benz company has always been
known for their market leading luxury cars, which have always offered the
driver the pinnacle of modern day technology, both in interior and exterior
design. Even though the Benz name has been commonly associated with luxury,
the engineers have always ensured that the driver and passengers are safe as
well as comfortable. To ensure this, Mercedes vehicles have always been on
the cutting edge of safety technology with side impact beams and other
safety issues, and to increase the utility, they also offer their 4-matic
all wheel drive system in nearly all of their cars. In an attempt to give
every driver what they want, Mercedes offers their AMG vehicles, which offer
sports car performance in a variety of their end high luxury cars. With the
insurgence of interest in sport utility vehicles and family vehicles, such
as minivans in the late nineteen eighties and early nineteen nineties,
Mercedes responded by introducing the M class. The M Class offered the
buyer minivan interior space, sport utility vehicle capabilities, modern day
styling, and all without losing the look and feel of a Mercedes Benz. Well,
with the gradual change in the styling of sport utility vehicles, as well as
the constant shift in the Mercedes look and the growing interest in
horsepower and performance numbers, the engineers at Daimler Chrysler
Corporation were back at the drawing board working on the new Sport Ute to
take the place of the previous M Class, and in the end, they had not created
any new vehicles; but instead just refined and further perfected the already
popular M Class. With some minor rounding here and there to bolster
aerodynamics, while not losing the typical M Class lines, and some new power
stuffed under the hood, as well as a new transmission, and to cap it off,
some nice changes to the already comfortable interior, the new M Class,
while being a returning model is like a whole new pair of vehicles; the
ML350 and ML500. And upon our review of DCX's latest offering, we are sure
that the popular lines of the previous generation M Class have only been
bettered, and as for the addition of the new interior goodies, as well as
two big new engines, this M Class will offer competition to SUV makers
worldwide, that will be tough to beat.
