Gents,

I have a 1996 SL600 that I recently purchased and everything with the vehicle appears fine except for one thing. I cannot get the car to pass emissions because I can't seem to find the correct drive cycle required to get the remaining tests completed. The check engine light (MIL) is not coming on, I had it at the Benz dealer a week ago and had an O2 sensor replaced and have driven about 400 miles since both city and highway. There are no codes being issued and from all appearences everything seems correct. The dealer just said I need to drive the car until it finishes its diagnostics but I'm starting to wonder about that.

I only have about another 3 weeks to get the vehcle registered in Georgia before I become illegal and can't drive it anymore without taking a chance. But, at this rate, I may not have any choice.

Has anyone experienced this type of problem and is there a vehicle/mercedes specific drive cycle that must be followed?

Any help would be appreciated.
