Hi guys, Im new to the forum and just bought an '87 wagon. Ive always been an old bmw guy with a secret lust for old diesel benz wagons and finally got one. I had been looking for an '82 or '83 but this '87 popped up in my area and for 500 bucks I had to get it. It runs and drives great with just over 200k no rust and a nice enough interior. Only reason it was cheap is that it needs a new power steering pump. Still drives okay but its pretty leaky. What am I looking at to replace it? can I get a used one cheap and try to do it myself? I am driving an 85 with approx 300k and it is a sweet vehicle. I think it needs a turbo charger though. But in high gear it is a real cruiser. Go ahead and get the pump repaired. You have money to make repairs since you only paid 500.
