Hi. First time here and i'm trying to help my mother. Someone broke intio her car two weeks ago and stole her GPS. They smashed the small window on the drivers side, passenger window. Since then the battery keeps draining and it requires a jump start to start the car. She took it in and the dealer checked the battery and alternator and found that something is draining it (duh), but not sure what it could be. I saw that a few people found that the "seat adjustment control module", seems to be the most common culprit. Is there a way that I can check this out before sending it off to the Benz dealer to be charged $$$$$$ to fix this? Could I fix it? The window has been repaired since. The battery also was fine for three days after it was tested and put back in. That Saturday morning, it would not work again. I also remember that the alarm indicator is blinking as soon as she turns off the car. I thought it should only arm once your out of the car and have armed it with the remote lock.

Umm...We should find an expert on this issue. I have exactly same issue with you about battery drainage. I had a warning message on trip computer for alternator and battery problem. I got the car replaced alternator and battery. And same thing happened next day. The funny thing is all these repair was done due to sensor error which read 203?. But now has new sensor, new alter and new battery. but has still battery drainage issue. Now the car is stored in the shop. The mechanic tested the drainage issue and found 2 major sources. One is the commander unit and the other one is might be the pwr seats. The commander unit alone loses 2Amp. They said it's huge comparing to other cars which lose .5~.7 amp. Those sources are fcoming from actory installed OEM parts. Is there anyone who would help us?

Had similar problem 1 year ago. Had no idea were it drains, replaced the battery, drained... It was my last straw. Went to the stealership. After 12 hours they gave me a call : "Sorry it took so long to find a drain...... but we found it....it's front passenger seat control..... 2 hours of drain reseacrh = $250. Total you are looking at $800 including labor and a unit. Of course we can put a jumper on front seat but you will not be able to move the seat...." That's a story. In you case I would go to the dealearship. They shouldn't charge you for more than 2 hours of work (approx $250 last year) plus parts.

Just a suggestion. If you think it may be the power seat control modules. Unplug the modules (driver & passenger) for a few days and see if the battery drains. If the battery is fine, connect one of the seat modules and leave it for a few days to see if it may be that particular one. If not, do the same to the other module. Why pay the dealership $$$. Good luck, hope you find the problem.
