I've got the same problem - how did you resolve your issue?

Hey all.
I just replaced my heater blower and mono valve in my '89 300E.
After reading here the symptoms: No main heater fan and only a little heat from the vents.
The aux fan works but gets cold fast.
The valve sends hot coolant to the core normally. I was getting some heat when on the highway.
I bought a UK Haynes shop manual (ISBN:1 85960 253 3) from Amazon.com(uk) that said it was in Romanian.
It is in english as the cover showes. Even the people at Amazonuk thought it was in Romanian.
It's backwads in spots and uses some words like slacken and prise instead of loosen and pry but it's understandable.
Took me about 5 hours but I was being carefull and taking pictures along the way.
Once I got the motor and valve from socalmercedesparts (Matt was helpfull to get the right one) I made a date with my work clothes and did it.
I have heat! (and money in my pocket)
I feel I can face the future with aplomb with my 19 (204k) year old 300E.
I also bought a helpfull guide (ISBN:0-9584026-1-2) that is not a shop manual but has some diagrams the Hanes didn't have.
Hope thgis helps.
Ciao,
