I have a 1982 240d and am trying to replace the modulator valve. I have removed the old valve and have a new one, but cannot remove the pin that runs through the old valve to use in the new one. Is it common for this pin to be stuck in the valve? And how do I go about getting it out? I don't want to force it and damage it in the process.

Many technicians would use "locktite" to secure the pin. Sometimes heat can help remove it or just get another pin.
