greetngs my ? is did m/b make a rear sump o/p for 617? as mine is front [85 td] & a rear would lessen mods on front xmember of recieving chev p/u, also info on oil p/u & pump appreciated. many thanks for knowledgeable responses bng

Only front sump. The oil pump occupies a significant portion of the oil pan depth making a rear sump nearly impossible.

However, you could eliminate the oil pump and convert it to a dry sump with an external pump. It would be 100% fabrication though.
