hi  im looking for a source  for roof hydraulic cylinder repair kits .the nearest i got was from a guy who repairs them in the USA . Rather on the expensive side . i will share any info  i get as thats the way it should be. i have already stripped down one, of the top of screen cylinders and effected a temp repair  with an adapted brake cylinder seal .but would like a more permanant answer .If anyone has any info ie cyl/system manufacturer. part nos etc .would be v interested . i am going to be  looking round car shortly to get manufacturers names etc,and will post as and when .this is going to be a larger as larger issue as these old girls get older, will even consider having kits manufactured as i have a contact in the hydraulic industry .
thanks for looking

be careful if you ever have a problem with a leak in the rear.  I had a problem on the drivers side.  lifted the top cover and looked down and sure enough the lower larger cylinder was leaking or so I thought.  well it was wet with hydraulic fluid right where the rod comes out.  but what was happening the smaller cylinder that raises and lowers the back part of top was leaking right down on top of the main cylinder.  you can hardly see it buried in the hardware.  follow the wire or look close.  the larger main cylinder ran $500 of which I didn't need.  the upper smaller one with the built in micro-switch is $600 plus.  and those are not suggested retail, but a dealer can give those prices if they are in the mood to be nice. the one on the other side is a lot less without the micro-switch.  the main cylinder is fairly easy to replace.  the smaller upper is harder.  the front ones are the easiest of all. try mercedescylinders@sbc.net for getting it rebuilt if you don't want to give an arm and leg for it.  maybe they are the ones you already knew about. compared to new they are very reasonable

brookings,
The link you provided takes you to the Southern Baptist Conference website.  I think you meant to post Dennis Ficken's email address...
