Hello, I have a 90 350 SDL with 260000 + miles, the car has a kadung noise when it shifts gears, only in the beginning, at higher speeds its not present, and recently I put it in park, and the car rolled, it didnt lock in gear.  Can this be a tranny problem?, overall the car sounds good, no major problems, but i'm worried about this recent incident can anyone shed some light, I am not automobile savvy.  Thanks

Don't buy it. The 90's S-class diesels are not made well.

Could be a vaccum leak considering the vaccum does the actual shifting. Then again it could be the gears
