Hi folks!

Just checked in. Own a new CLS 320 CDI - anybody drives that type too?
I no that Diesel is not usual in US - coming from Europe, that´s why :-)

Hi,

Last Tuesday (December 4th) I became a proud owner of an almost identical 2007 Mercedes CLS 320 CDI (Sunroof, Black Nappa Leather, 18 inch rims with 245 front 275 rear tires, Command, Harman Kardon, iPod Adapter, Airmatic DC, Obsidian Black). I was out on a business trip all last week and so I only got to drive it for the weekend. Its by far the best car I've ever had. My previous car was a BMW 730d and even though it was comfortable, it is no match for the luxury and style of the CLS. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Likes
- Interior - I was worried about black on black but Nappa smells good and looks great
- Airmatic DC - Comfort setting great for cruising compared to stock suspension
- Harman Kardon - Don't know the stock but this is a great car stereo
- 18 inch rims - I like the 18 inch better than the 19 inch on this car
- Handling - to me it feels better than the 535d I test drove (I'm the minority I guess)
- iPod adapter - great operating  you iPod from the steering wheel
- Steering wheel paddles - this is the best paddle-shift I've tried yet

Small Niggles
- Navigation is ok but behind the mark compared to Garmin, TomTom
- Parktronic - compared to BMW (with Visual aid) its quirkier to use
- 18 inch rims - its easy with 35 profile tires in rear to nick the alloys - take care

There is so much torque down low with this engine (still running in until 1500 km) and it feels plenty fast but I'd love to hear if anyone has tried the DMS or other chip tuning options. 275 HP and even more torque must be unbelievable on this car.

regards,
Yiannis.

Looks good!  I like the rims too. Nice line up you got there  I didn't even know they had the CLS in Diesel did you buy that in the states or did you ship it from Europe?
