So a few months ago I blew the transmission in my 1984 190E. I am, for the most part, a do it yourself kind of guy (college has me too broke to be able to afford to pay others to do work for ma haha)and im going to swap the transmission for a new one i just got off a friend of the family from another 84' 190E. I was wondering how difficult this proceedure is and how long it normally takes. Thanks, Brian. *Note: It has a manual transmission.

Typically can be done with the right tools and equiptment within 2-4 hours......but if your doing it on your back in your drive way bench pressing the tranny allow yourself 2-3 extra hours and a few minutes in between to pound down a few Heinekens...P.S. save yourself some greef and also replace your Clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing while your in there......nothing feels better than completing a job yourself.
