I drive an ML 320/2000. For some time now the problem occures that the car internal beeper goes starts beeping in the middle of driving. There must be some kind of a shortage in the electrical system. 4 or 5 controll lights turning on - the first three on the left ( ETS, ABS and aother one and the Emergency brake control light which probalby triggers the beeper) I have to stop the car, turn of the engine and hope that the control lights turn off after starting the engine. Now more often this happens. Does somone has an idea what that could be? Your help and suggestions is highly appreciated. Thanks Peter

our ml320 did this becuase a bolt in the rear brakes was missing.... they said that it would take a week to get the part from germany, but a few choice words convinced them to "borrow" the part off a demo vehicle.

the problem in your case is the abs pump, the brushes wear out .easy fix.take out the pump there are two torqz screws and pull the pump out;no fluid will escape, then take the pump to an auto-electrician to have the brushes replaced .should not cost more than $200

I have the same problem !!! But... I took it into the dealership and they said my sensor main unit (CPU) is broken and will cause the "all system failure" beeper to occur. The CPU is going to cost me 3,000, I am currently waiting for a second opinion. So far (keeping fingers crossed), I have not experienced the beeping in a while (4 months), I've tried every scenario possible. It tends to occur more often when I use my A/C and the engine is VERY warm (summer time). I am contemplating an upgrade to the ML320 CDI - the diesel engines have come a LONG way !! Used to have the 90's diesel version.
