I noticed my 87 300DT was a little low on power, so I ran some sea foam through it to clean the injectors, it made a difference so I decided to really get on it and see how the engine performed under a load, I could feel the car accelerating and the turbo kicking in when it suddenly fell on it's face. now it takes about a minuet to get to 60mph, and when I am on the highway I have to floor it up hills and it still decreases in speed, I have clear fuel hose and it doesn't appear that there is any air in there and the filter is fairly new, I put a gauge on the lift pump and it had pressure, this was only while cranking it, I didn't have a "t" fitting to run it and monitor the pressure at the same time, any ideas

Does this vehicle still have the trap oxidizer on it?  The trap basically sits on the top of the engine bay on the passenger side of the motor and looks kind of like a football.  It was designed to clean the exhaust but they had a nasty habit of clogging with the dirty North American diesel fuel.  It would literally choke the motor, resulting in a huge power loss.  The fix is to replace the trap oxidizer with a straight pipe and possibly putting a catalyst down pipe on there as well ( depending on where you live in order to meet emission standards ).

No, it had the recall done on it 5 or 6 years ago, I have a veg conversion done on, so I have alot of clear hoses except for two, one before the lift pump and onw after it, and it happened that one of those hoses was sucking in air.
