I just got off the phone just a few minutes with my mechanic. The 2.2L is shot, there are metal fragments in the engine and it's not worth it to rebuild a motor. So what are my options? I know the M104 C280 engine will work fine and that's what I'd like to get, however, can I use the same 190D tranny? Will there be any problems since it's a diesel car? What are some other engines that will drop in with the same tranny?

Need help quick

Update: I've located a replacement engine rated 'grade A' with only 103k miles on it. Most of the engines out there have 170-250+k so I got lucky. $990 shipped.
