My wife and I are considering an R; however, we are not sure it will work out for our large family. Is it possible to order an R Class that comes with second row captain seats with no folding armrests and no center console, so that children may walk between the seats to access the third row? Due to baby seats, we cannot fold the second row seats forward to access the third row. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

The R Class is standard without the center console although you can order it. My sons actually prefer to be in the seats in the very back on the vehicle when we travel and they both have extremely large carseats. I have found the R very versatile and right now with the cheap 1.9 financing and the factor that they are making some good deals right now I think its the car to beat. Plus 26 mpg is always good. If you are worried about the seating take a look at the GL320 diesel.

I do not think you will have a problem with kids going between the captain's chairs to get to the third row. My daughter is 14 and she has no problem going through. Also, the center console is an option. You may also be able to remove the armrests for additional room. I think this will be a great choice for you. I have had mine for just over 1 year and 16,000 miles, and still love it. Good Luck!
