Hi
My 1998 A160 classic has, since I have had it, smelt of petrol from time to time. I haven't been able to work out why it sometimes does and often doesn't. A few mechanics have told me it's because the engine is so close to the drivers seat but I'm not sure about this.
Does anyone else have the same problem or any advice.
Thanks

Hello,
Have a look under the plastic covers under the car, the petrol tank and the petrol filter are under there. It may be a loose hose clamp or something simple like that.

I have this problem (amongst all of the others) when sitting in traffic. I figured it was because I rarely use the handbrake and only use clutch control.

Now I am worried it is something more serious
