Hello everyone

I am new to the forum and pretty new to the diesel world. I have a few years experiance in the motorcycle and gas engine tuning.

I bought the 300sdl from my neighbor and have been doing well until 3 days ago. My glow plug light started not to come on and when (after many trys) the car starts in the mornings car has no power. I could not even drive up my driveway. Please help with some pointers what I should look for and do.

When I first got the car I had a liitle power issue, but that was due to a couple of vacuum lines cracked. After replacing the lines all was great and even took 2 long trips with the car. It drove like a dream.

Check your glow plugs, if one or two are bad the light won't come on.That will definitely make it hard to start

my glow plug light doesnt come on either......i thought it was the bulb? maybe it is a bad glow plug?

????thoughts????

Blue, also make sure that the recall for the trap oxidizer was done. There are still a few 300SDL's out there that haven't had it removed/replaced.

As far as I know, it is still covered by Mercedes Benz at any dealership in the US, even if you are not the original owner of the car....
