1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel
- 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine with 321,000 miles, and has been turned up for more power
- 4-year-old automatic transmission
- Good exhaust
- New Aiwa 45W CD player with 2 year warranty on product and installation at Circuit City
- Auxillary Sony tape cassette player
- Air conditioning converted to use Freeze-12
This car is considered by many to be one of the best Mercedes-Benzes ever made. The engine is considered by many to be the best. It's been a daily driver for me, but it needs some work.
The engine needs a thermostat so it will run warm in the winter. It also needs new motor mounts. The car still has a lot of power, and climbs hills better than almost any other car.
Sometimes the passenger headlight and the driver taillight will stop working simultaneously, and then come back on later. A new blower motor is needed for the heater and AC to work.
The interior is in excellent condition for the car's age. The driver's seat has some tears by the door.
Only the rear driver power window works. The car needs new power window switches and regulators for the windows to roll down. The front driver's window broke, and has been replaced with plexiglass.
There's some rust out that was fiberglassed on the body back by the rear license plate, and on the rear passenger door.
The car must be picked up in Utah. I'm pretty sure you could drive it home.
