Hello,
I am replacing the transmission in a 91 350SD. My trans has the 722361 number, which is the correct model according to http://www.peterschmid.com/. The replacement transmission I bought, does not have the number on the pan rail? looks almost like it was ground off there. it does have the part number 126 270 49 00, with number 83227608:9 underneath. I need to know if that part number corectly identifies the trans or can it be an earlier model. One junkyard asked me if it was an early or late model trans? I could not find any number they were refering to.
