At one time I too considered a SL55 vs. a SL65 vs. SL600; Ultimately I decided upon a SLR McLaren (see my 12/24 reply to “Looking into getting a SL65” on the Mercedes AMG Class Forum).
However, of the three (3) SL’s, I believe that the SL55 is the better buy. The performance numbers between the SL55 and the SL600 are very close and that that is probably attributable to the added weight of the SL600 12 cylinder engine. Also the AMG’s “Speed Shift” transmission provides a faster shift.
