Usually at the supply line for the heater core.

On that engine the heater core supply line comes out from the L side of the engine and the hose then goes around the oil filter cannister. Tap the heat exchanger return line into the heater core return hose on the r side of the engine near the front before it goes into the water pump.

I have a similar question regarding my '78 300cd. I was planning on wrapping and insulating a coolant line around the vo line, around the fuel filter, and then into a fphe, then possibly back into the tank in the trunk. Should I be doing all of these heat exchanges (filter, fphe, line, and tank) in series ? If so, the heater core is the appropriate place to interceot the coolant?
