Trying to get a sense of the difference in driving experience between CLK55 and CL55. The latter is a slightly larger car and the Active Body technology gives a different effect. The CL felt "Bigger" to me - but that feeling might change over time as I get used to it. I haven't been able to toss around a CL enough to get a good sense for comparison.

Could anyone give me their own sense of where the differences are in handling? (never mind horsepower). Do you find yourself taking advantage of the ability to adjust handling for example?

i always like car with larger cockpit. i feel a bit cramped sitting inside the CLK.

best way is for you test drive both of them and see which feel more comfortable.

CL chassis is based on W220 sedan.

And that is the thing. I kind of LIKE the smaller CLK interior, but my sense of the CL was that it also felt like a bigger car in handling. There is too much traffic where my dealer is to be able to really throw things around. How do the two compare in handling?

if on the highway CL is better, but on the city and country road, CLK is easy to handle.

Thanks you for the reply.. You are confirming my sense: The CL is the perfect freeway flier, but the CLK is smaller and easier to toss around. Thank you for the feedback.

If you can afford a CL 55 than you definitely should go with it.
