Just wanted to introduce myself. I am leaving Thursday morning to head to Miami to pick up my '06 C230. I was looking at the 3 series BMW- but ventured into the Mercedes and loved it. This is my first foreign car- so I have a lot to learn. I am used to doing ALL of my own repairs- but I don't know if that will be the case with this car. I only know the big three american cars......

Not that it matters- but during the week I am a drafter at a civil engineering firm. On the weekends I work at the Anheuser Busch brewery in STL as a machinist. Spare time (not that I have much) is spent riding my mountain bike or tinkering with one of the toys out in the shop/garage.

baby steps- baby steps..... I am just going to try to make sure my flights actually make it to my destination in one piece and on time- not to mention me finding my salesman that supposed to pick me up at the Miami airport. After all of that falls into line- then I will start enjoying the car. One thing is for sure- I will get to know the new car pretty quick- it will have 1200 miles on it- just from the drive home.

Yeah- I live in Illinois- right across the river from STL Missouri. The miles don't bother me much. The car is rarely going to get driven- mainly if I have someplace nice I have to go- or an occasional weekend cruise. I am keeping my zx3 as my daily driver. Not only that- I have family in Merrit Island Flordia- which is on my way home from Miami- so I am going to make a mini vacation out of this and stop at their house for a few days- should be a good time.

yeah- it will be lowered and the stereo will be replaced within a month. i am planning to get started on the stereo install the weekend after i get back. i have diamond audio speakers for the mids/highs and a/d/s subs and amps. still searching for lowering springs- all i have found so far only work up to the 05's- which had 4 cylinders. if i used those springs it seems the spring rates might be off a little because of the added weight of the 6cyl that's in the 06's. as soon as i do a little more research as to what the internals are made of and other specs on the engine- it will most likely get a little nitrous in the near future. i have put nitrous on just about everything i own- if used and setup correctly- nitrous is the greatest thing since sliced bread. i may get the windows tinted while i am in florida with it. i have a theory that window tint there will be a lot cheaper than where i live. it's illegal here- but florida it's fine. which leads me to believe since a lot of people do it there- there will be a lot of competition which means cheaper prices. not sure how that theory will pan out- but i will check it out anyway.
