What do you guys think this car is worth? It seems like a good deal to me because of the very low mileage and almost perfect interior. I am a newbie when it comes to Mercedes Diesel engines but from what I heard is that they are bulletproof. Are there any known problems with the '79 MB Diesel engine? Call me crazy but I like that Maroon color.

If you've never driven one, they are extremely slow on take off. Yes, reasonably bulletproof. Fair A/C function. Very good handling, somewhat rare. I own an 81 CD myself and have had it a number of years. I prefer the 82 and up because of the turbocharger. My experience with old low mileage cars is fluids dont get changed because they are forgotten, so expect to change ALL fluids and filters. Parts availability is reasonably priced and plentiful. This car has no EGR system so it will smoke a little because of that which is normal. My car has approx 220,000 on the engine and had 210,000 on the trans before the pump failed in the trans.

I know its hard not to be emotional because of the apparent condition of the car, but personally I think its over priced at least here in California. We take no rust cars for granted, some people in other areas of the US dont, which would affect a price consideration. Price is in the eye of the beholder!
