With the gas prices going the way they are going, I think people are willing or soon will be willing to buy any go kart that offers good gas mileage.

I have one on order, 2008 solid black. Made my reservation the first morning it was (3/23/07) available. Should be getting it any day now[sm=happybounce.gif]

Congrats! I was thinking about getting one, but I do a lot of highway driving. If the 4-four had a 4 cylinder offered with a higher top speed I would buy it hands down.

I got my smart on 1/21/08, so it looks like it has a future with me[:)]
I sold my troublesome 190E yesterday, so now I can park my smart at "home"[sm=groupwave.gif]

the smart with the 3 cylinder (1 liter) engine easily does 90mph. driving home from the dealer (no radio) i was trying to keep it at 60mph, it easily crept to 70mph when i took my eye off the speedometer. i think i'll need to use a radar detector (though the smart has little metal in it, just a space frame (tridion cell), small radiator and low profile engine in the back, most of the car is plastic). it is comfortable on level roads, a 6 foot wheelbase gets bouncy on less than perfect roads (ride em cowboy!)

Easily? I have a 4 cylinder 190D with roughly the same horsepower and more torque. With the pedal floored, going down hill, with new oil and fuel filters..it's tough hitting 90mph. What is the top speed on one of these things? The are zippy, but reaching 90mph is questionable imo.
