Hey Everyone, Does anyone have any info regarding the wiring harness for the C series from 1995 to 1997? My mechanic told me that Mercedes outsourced the part in 95 and 96 and they were all recalled. He says mine needs to be replaced ( engine light on) it isn't under warranty, and I have to come up with the $1,600.00 Has anyone else encountered this?

I am wondering, how do they diagnose this problem or do they insist you fix it before they address any other issues on the vehicle.

When they pulled out all the faulty codes from my check engine light, it was showing 25 fault codes and from all the symptoms they received they pretty much sure that is the problem. Plus this is not the first case they had, This shop handles ONLY european cars and their warranty is great, like my case they give me 1 year warranty, if any problem occurs, then they will fix it for free. What are the problems or symptoms that you have. If you want tell me and I will ask my shop, I would be glad letting you know before you spend all that money. Cheers

Most obvious symptom is the car vibrating in idle which is very intermittant, sometimes it runs great but then it does it again. I could probably live with the cel on if the car ran better. I still love the car and wouldn't have anything else, I drove a BMW 525i before I purchased this and it JUST FELT WRONG!
