i have an 83 300td, i would like to get a turbocharger for it. any idea what turbos work best with these older 5cyl diesel engines? thanks in advance.

300TD...5 cyl? was it: 124.190 124.193 124.393 ? if 123.190... then i got no info. i wasn't born yet till 10 years later if you were somewhere near MB/TECHMAN... he can always do the conversions and modifications. keep on smiling.

Don't you just love the guys, that will bash you for not working here full time, but are "above" the things like posting their location? I bet the guy is in Israel, so Baton Rouge is not on his way of daily commute. It is too humid there anyway. Anyway, unless you have a mechanic working for nothing, adding turbo to non-turbo engine will cost you more, than factory turbo-equipped car cost those days. Not to mention, that turbo engines have reinforced connecting rods and other components. Good luck, whenever you are.
