hello everyone, i am going to change my fuel shutoff solonoid, it is leaking and the car will not shut off, even with 200mb at the suction, can anyone tell me is it possible to change the solonoid without removing the charging pipe/intake manifold assembly? for such a small part it is a major pain in the butt,, if so can some one give me the procedure, on how to get to the back torx T30 screw head, i removed the pressure sensor head and still can not get back there. i figure once that is loose, the unit shoud pick up and slip out.
any ideas.
steve

Sleepwalker, i completely forgot to give the vitals, thanks for the reminder.
1991 300d 2.5 turbo diesel.
I have the new part and would prefer to take it out with some finageling of torx wrenches. After closer examination, the only reason i see to take off the intake manifold is to get access to the nut. However being new at this, it also might be to be able to manipulate the solonoid up and away to disengage it and engage the new one. Do you know if it can be done without removing the intake manifold, and also, how much room is in the bore of the solonoid, is it a tight fit?
