THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER IN MY CAR [E420] NEVER BEEN USED. STILL BRAND NEW. I GUESS THE OWNER BEFORE ME WAS NOT A SMOKER OR ALLOW ANYONE TO SMOKE IN THIS CAR.
I PUSH IN THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. I AM ASSUMING THAT THE FUSE MAY NEED A REPLACEMENT. DOES ANYBODY KNOWS IF THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER HAS ITS OWN FUSE ALONE OR SHARE SAME FUSE WITH OTHER STUFF?
WHERE CAN I FIND THIS FUSE TO CHECK IT OUT?
THANKS

My ashtray and lighter have never been used. Lighter doesn't work. Removed the ashtray, lighter comes out with it. on the left side of the ashtray are two contacts which I assume are for the lighter current. Mine are corrodid even though everything else looks brand new. I don't think it's worth the work to clean. Oh! on my 86 300SL

Thanks. I noticed that when I push in the lighter, I have to hold it for a while and pull it out manually, then its warm enough to light a cigarette.
What I want to do again, is to try vacuum cleaner in the outlet to see if it works. I will also try and check what you recommend, probably there is not too much wire contacts.

Thanks but I need to plug in my GPS when purchase. The lighter is working when GPS was plugged in. The problem is the lighter itself which I DO NOT want to REPLACE.
