Hi all,
I've just bought a 83' 240D with manual transmission and spent last week fixing some minor problems (vacuum leek). The car runs fine although I feel its very slow and without power especialy going uphill (my father had W124 200D and 250D and they were both much quicker and felt stronger, especialy the later). I know that 230K is not a low milage but I bought this car knowing that these engines are durable. Its starts on a single crank, makes 28+ MPG and keeps the oil presure at 2bar at idle and thats were I left out of ideas to look for the cause. Does anyone know what is the normal engine temperature for this car, as mine never gets to 80 and is usualy just above 40. This looks suspicious to me. All tips are welcome.
