ok, here's my long, sad story. A few weeks ago I broke one of the small vacuum lines that goes over the top of the valve cover while I was changing the oil. oops. So I taped off both ends and the car ran fine. I figured that whatever that line controlled, it must not have worked anyway. A few days ago as I backed down the driveway the brake pedal got hard and I had just a very little braking action. I shut the car off and guess what, it didn't - so I hit the fuel stop on the engine and there she sits. What happened?? The car runs fine, vacuum locks all work, A/C controls work. I am stumped. I suscribe to ALLDATA (car repair site) but can find no correlation between no brakes and the the fuel not shutting down. Obviously vacuum but what, where, how? I don't even know where to beging checking! Can anyone help??
