I just bought a 1982 300 CD. With a 617 turbo. now i wana get a little more power out of the dog and black smoke. what can i do other then this plugin the waste gate and backin out the aneroid compensator? And that is cheep.

Well there is always pushing.

other then that plugin the waste gate which will couse your engine to go KABOOM, is adjusting your wastegate for increse boost, but you wont get more power without more fuel

. increse boost will only give you around 10% more power which are unsafe. I would put intercooler($200), I dont know if 300CD has it. Cool air intrake coustume for mercedes ($100) [you dont need it if you have intercooler]. On gassoline car i whould put Nitro but on diesel it will make car go like A-bomb in direct mining total destruction.
I heard from some source you can run Propane on Diesel like Nitro on gassoline. (please varify)
maybe some advance cranky, to press that sticky valves.
Oh yea, sport type head for all the pressure around ($1k)
VG turbo, various geometry turbo cool ($???)
In my opinion its easier to put newer engine in, old style swap.
