Thanx for trying to help Phil, actually I am getting a complete engine rebuild and the mechanic tells me that the oil pump needs replacement. It was giving me a good 3 at idle startup and 1.5 to 1.75 after warm up at idle.

Just wanted to know how to check the pump as it looks fine to me.

Thanx

I have the same car, and the specs that you are providing DO NOT point at all to any oil pump issues. So I am not clear at all as to what the issue with your oil pump is. Can you please clarify. How come you need an engine rebuild?

You should also be aware that not that long ago, there was was a world-wide shortage of these pumps. They were impossible to get from Mercedes, or any other source. So if there is problem, (whatever it is), with the oil pump, make sure that before your mechanic tears it apart, hedoes have access to another one.
