I am eagerly awaiting my new Porter Cable 7424 and am trying ot figure out which polish is best for a MB finish. I have read that due to the difference in clear coat composition that you should use Menzerna. Does anyone use this or the Meguiars?

First of all I would polish the car, then wax, polish gives car paint the shine, wax protects. Meguiars products are excellent and easy to use, Most wax and polish are safe for clear coat. To be very honest, I have bought some very expense products and some moderatly priced and I see no difference in the color clarity etc. I think it's the skill of the person doing the job that makes a freshly detailed car look great instead of good!

Congrats on your purchase, one of the best investments you could have made for the MB. Product selection is key when you want to preserve and maintain your auto. Selection is also dependant on needs. Does the paint just need a cleaning? Go with a paint cleaner. Is there oxidation? Use a light abrasive. Is its swirled? Use a swirl mark remover. Many variables, to prescribe a product I need to know what your trying to eliminate or improve, I'd love to help ya........Menzerna is not "the best" by any stretch of imagination. What is considered "best" is subjective. Things to consider: ease of use, dusting, gloss, diminishing abrasives, protective abilities, etc.....Its a personal decision....
