After 5 and a half years stood in my mams garage i finally got round to putting a new battery on my 280 SLC and it fired up 1st time. I now am on a mission to restore it to it's glory. The engine is fine a mechanic is gonna service it and re-new all the brakes as they we're a little siezed, so better safe than sorry. It needs a couple of front wings as they are starting to go a wee bit and 2 new bumpers are required apart from that and the carpets everything seems to be in good shape. Does anyone out there know of a good place to get hold off parts for this beast. Also who ever had it before me took out the V6 and replaced it with a straight 6 short block engine, can any one shed some light why this might have been done ( is one better than the other?)

I don't know a lot about these folks, but you might want to try http://www.mercedesparts.co.uk/. They have a fairly significant Internet presence and at least they're local.

Hello, I've a 1980 450 SLC 5.0 and I'm starting to restoring it.

Right now I've noticed that its fuel distributor (bosch k-jetronic) is faulty and needs to be either remanufactured or replaced. Do you have any advise on how to repair/fix this item?

Thanks for the help,

Slo-Mo.
