I need help, my 300D starts squeeling when i give it gas. It sounds like it is coming from the belt area directly behind the radiator but i don't see any change in the belts as it starts to squeel, my buddy thinks it might be bearings but it only happens when the rpms go up. It started a few weeks ago but it seems to be getting worse. Has anyone else had this problem, any ideas?

A quick test to confirm if its a belt or not is to squirt a bit of water, (or WD30) directly on the belt while the engine is running and see if the noise diminishes. If it does than its the belt, if not than you need to look elsewhere.

Hay, I am Canadian, so WD-30 CDN, is equivalent to WD-40 US.

There you go!

You'll have to excuse me; I grossly underestimated the effects of deflation re: merchandising. I should have been aware of the domino effect, or is it "affect"(!) and scheduled my next flight on a DC-2 1/2! I'm sorry I called it to your attention; it must be very painful....

painter 527,

Surely, by now, you have learned that it's a belt! It got worse, or the belt broke, and then it was obvious? Did you know that WD-40 is also good for fire-ant bites? It takes the sting out of them. It's not just for breakfast anymore!
