Hello, I''m considering buying a 1972 Mercedes 220. Although it''s not practicle I''d love to purchase this car! Don''t commute to work and work at home but will be using it as a primary mode of transportation as I live in CA.
The seller told me the foreseeable problems in the future for this car are: fuel pump has a small leak; sometimes the starter grinds, which indicates that this may go out at some point as well (tumbler replaced 6 months ago); and there is no climate control.
I''m wondering how much that will run me if I need to take care of those problems and if it''s worth the $7,000 asking price.

Thanks!

The pictures look great. Since you don''t fight traffic every day, why not?

if you are not a mechanic it can get costly.7000 is alot .it mite need a fly wheel and/or starter.fuel pump can be  costly also. is the car rusty on  the frame, pull off all wheels and inspect for rot where frame and rear mount .get a pro to look over the car for you then decide ,look for a used car evaluator in phone book.good luck
