Hey guys,I'm one of the newbies around here and with my new Benz all together. My problem is this,I'm stuck. My baby,a 1982 Turbo Diesel 300se,is refusing to get up. At all. It ran beautifully in the summer though when the winter set it,start up became a no show. I took it in for repairs, the glow plugs are fine(As was my first concern) and he replaced a few hoses, yet after a week... it won't start. The electrical system seems alright but when I turn the key,it does nothing. Absolutely nothing. At first it sounded like it just didn't have enough power to roll over the engine, then it got weaker...and weaker... now it's dead. My thoughts were circling around the Starter, any other ideas for a clueless newfound Benz lover?

There are several possibilities. a) Corroded and or Defective Starter wiring/ground, b) Defective Starter c) Weak Battery or Charging System d) Valves way to tight. Need to be adjusted. e) Coolant leaking into the Cylinders, preventing the engine from turning over. This could be caused by a cracked head, or head gasket (Unlikely unless you are constantly loosing coolant, for which you can not find an obvious cause.) Check the easy ones first. That's about it By the way, I don't think you meant to say that your car is an '82 300SE Turbo Diesel. More likely its a 300SD, or 300TD. Which one is it? Phil
