RE: Rough Idle getting code P0455 & P0445 - 8/16/2008 11:35:37 AM    ohlord   Posts: 930 Joined: 5/9/2007 Status: offline Check that your gas cap is on properly,flip the gasket over if need be.Then check the air vacuum lines going into and out of the purge valve,black valve located on the wheel well drivers side in front of the brake booster says MOT on top of the valve.Someplace a evap emmission line has come loose or cracked and you need to track it down. keep us posted after you look for those items. ohlord (in reply to fastedy1) Post #: 2

By the way, I tried the transmission reset and it worked great, shifts like a champ!! It does make it feel like a horsepower boost. (in reply to ohlord) Post #: 3

I tried to blow through it but could not, do you think it''s stuck in the closed position or is this normal when the car is not running? Thank you in advance ohlord... RE: Rough Idle getting code P0455 & P0445 - 8/16/2008 3:32:52 PM    ohlord   Posts: 930 Joined: 5/9/2007 Status: offline Purge valve cleaning procedure on benzworld.org w210 diy section.It only pulls a vacuum when needed and when the engine is first started at the start of the day.You can clean the lines or pull the line on the booster side of the purge valve and you should be able to hear it clicking away like a little drummer boy. ohlord (in reply to fastedy1) Post #: 5

RE: Rough Idle getting code P0455 & P0445 - 8/18/2008 1:34:25 PM    fastedy1   Posts: 9 Joined: 8/14/2008 Status: offline I pulled one line of the purge vale at a time to test, no sound other than the air from the line connected to the purge valve toward the front of the car. This was after I drove it early in the day. I will try it again in the morning before I drive it. Does this sound like the purge vale has failed to you ohlord??? (in reply to ohlord) Post #: 6

I also replaced the gas cap few hours ago, I will see if that has any effect on the idle, I''m not sure how long it will take for the new gas cap to make a difference if the old one was the problem. I''m new to MB but do like working on my own vehicle, all the helpful info here is a real plus.. :-) I will get a hold of my buddy with the code reader to see if anything new shows up.
