Just checking to see if there is any special tool I need to get my old pads or rotors off? My friend looked at the pads and said it looked like there might be a special tool needed to take out the pins to take off the pads? Not sure, please let me know what you think.

Just did my front pads on my cl55. Fastest brake job I''ve ever done! Watch what you buy though, if they''re not oem pads. There are others out there that say they''re for a cl55 and only have 4 pads instead of the required 8. They also don''t have the exact shape. Although they may fit from the bottom with the caliper off, the oem''s and pagid pads drop in from the top. (I did have to look at the pads at the jobber, as the first ones had 8 pads but not the same shape, checked the listing vs the mercedes number and got the right ones)

Pop the pins, pull off the spring retainer and push back the pistons. Pull out the wear indicator and pull out the old pads. Drop in your new pads and you''re done.

Make sure you don''t overflow the master cylinder fluid and you''re good.
