I am looking at a very clean 1996 SL but the HVAC controller looks to be the style of the 95 and older SL''s.
Is it possible that an early production 1996 was delivered with the older style controller? The one with the small LCD. temp. readout only. Not the longer rectangle
window.
Sorry. I know that this my first post but I cannot seem to find this answer elsewhere.

The climate control unit in all ''96 cars is the same as ''90-''99 cars.

I wouldn''t advise against buying a ''96, but you should be aware that this was the first year for the 722.6 electronically-controlled transmission, and these are prone to early failure.

O.K. Thanks. I thought that I had seen pictures of two different dash controllers for the HVAC.
This is my 1st ever M-B and will be a "toy for special occasions" so if it is down for repairs I will still be O.K..
