I am looking for a c280 sport if i can find one somewhere in this country we live in!! I was run off of the road by a semi truck and then took out 20 feet of guard rail and i have taken such good care of my 2000 c280 sport motor that I want another mercedes ( any mercedes that this V-6 will fit into that is clean) I do not want to part with this motor and transmission, I just feel like it is a part of me. i have maintained it to the best standards possible and I am looking for any help or advice that I can get from my fellow Mercedes Lovers everywhere!!! Can someone out there please help me? I am going to buy another Mercedes from the insurance $$ but I will one day have this motor under the hood of another c280 sport or something that it will fit into because i feel like a part of me is missing now that that car is totaled. I ask for help, advice,, etc whatever i can get from the fourm. Thanks as always and God Bless everyone out there. If you would like to email me you can at fcdsatlanta@aol.com Best of Regards to you all Springhillmb

You have a good idea however this may be a costly venture. You should try craigslist and see if there is one fs there. Problem you may run into is that if you do find one that doesn''t run which is not that likely since you say its a 2000 you are looking for, you would still need it towed to you or your shop and at $3 per mile might be expensive. Salvage yards may have one, but they are likely damaged too. Then another problem is the wiring, you may be forced to remove the wiring harness from your wrecked one to put into the new one.
