SO TODAY I TOOK OUT THE CLUSTER AND OTHER PLASTIC INTERIOR PARTS THAT WERE PEELING OFF.. I PAINTED THEM.

THE CAR WAS PUT BACK FLAWLESSLY TOGETHER.. I did not forget a single plug/screw.

now it will crank but wont start. it cranks for 1-2 seconds and thats it.

somebody had mentioned it could be the ignition ring?
is that the piece that pops out covering the ignition?
if yes, what mechanism in that ring makes the car not start.

any help appreciated along with a rough estimate of potential part/labor involved.

im thinking of taking the car into mercedes benz tomorrow but theyll rape me... all help appreciated in advance.

sincerely,

bryan.

Check the battery first, you need at least 13 14 volts to start, anything less it won''t work.
