Does anyone know what the last year was the Mercedes sold a manual transmission Diesel Benz in the States?  Some info on this would help as I am seriously considering selling my other MBs for another nice Diesel with a manual tranny.
Thanks in advance!

The 1989 190D 2.5

There are no factory turbodiesels with a manual.

Forced, is it an engine to avoid?  It may be more my style than the 240D which seems to need just about everything.  Any background that you can give on this particular model/engine/etc.. would be great.  Thanks in advance.

Just had the rear window seal replaced.  Had to get most of the metal refabricated and repaired due to rust.  After priming and the new seal the whole job cost me around $120.  Looks great.... it''s a start.

The 5-cylinder OM602 is a great engine, no common problems with it. The W201 body is "cheaper" than the earlier models in build quality but its more efficient, handles better and is more comfortable.

The main downside to the W201 is rear legroom is nonexistent if you have a tall driver or front passenger.
