Hi, I want to change my own oil on my 1998 mercedes ml 320 and was wondering how i would reset the service interval warning after I did it? Is there a reset tool to buy or another way to do it? Also, does anyone know any disadvantages to switching to synthetic oil in this car?? Thanks, Danny

i would have already been putting synthetic in your car. theres nothing wrong with it, way better. make sure to use an oem oil filter though because the aftermarket ones have proven not to work very well, theyre not that expensive.
as for the reset, have your driver door closed and hood closed. turn the key to position 2 (just before starting) and push your reset button on the dash (left one, if you have 2). push that button twice and you should see the service display. then push and hold that button down again while you quickly turn the ignition off then on again, keep holding that button, it could take up to 30 seconds, and it will reset.
