I'm posting here out of desparation, I hope someone can help! About a week ago my 87 300TD started idling roughly and smoking from under the hood. I checked it out, and found the #6 injector line had cracked near the flange on the IP side, and was spraying fuel everywhere. Ah ha! No big deal, I'll just order another, right? Wrong! These are on nationwide backorder, have been for 90 days, no indication when they will be available again.

So I put on my thinking cap, head to the junkyard, pull some line from a gas benz, and some hydrulic line to use as a splice - then I weld the gas line to the diesel line. Unfortunately, there is pin hole in my weld, so it's spraying everywhere.

The IP is pumping my really nice biodiesel out at about two gallons an hour - help!!

Mot importantly, do not drive it while its spraying fuel. Diesel and Biodiesel are not easy to ignite but are still a fire hazard none the less.

Find a used one. Post a wanted ad here: http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/forumdisplay.php?f=8
